Bio Diesel

My husband actually completed his first batch of bio diesel yesterday. And this morning he put a bit in his car.

He has been making the kit for doing this for ages. If you don't believe me go check out his blog.

My sister starting harassing him the other day wanting to know when he was actually going to put it all to work and actually make a batch. My husband confessed that he was a wee bit frightened of actually doing it. He conquered his fear and got busy.

We've had a wee bit of trouble from our neighbours. They were concerned about the safety aspects. So was I when he was doing it in the kitchen. But now we know a whole bunch more and when they saw us filling up Marc's car they did indicate they were interested in having some.

Hopefully over the next few days (if Marc's car doesn't explode), we'll start filling up my car as well.

The best part is I never have to go to a petrol (gas) station again. I never have to pay tax on my petrol purchases ever again. And we will save over £100/month!

Well Done, Marc! You are my hero......

Congratulations, Marc!
What's next?

Congratulations! How much per gallon did it cost? About $20?

I am helping the market for Bio-Deisel by using as much fossil fuel as possible. The sooner we run out, the sooner the market will open up for you!

Which is exactly why I drive a SUV and a turbo engine in my other car. I'd never make a dent using a Hybrid!

Jerry & Joe both use bio diesel in their trucks during the warm months. In the winter they have to mix it with diesel fuel or it will gel up.

Wind the bobbin up...pull, pull! Go Marc. I am so proud of your courage. Keep up the experiment.

Janell - My car is next. And then the world....
Sue - We will have to mix half and half for the winter as well. It appears to cloud at about 2 degrees celsius which is actually pretty cold for over here but we'll mix it anyway.
Joe - Did you not read about the savings? Can you read? Does someone else ghost write your comments?

Correction on my part, I must of skipped the closing paragraph.

no ghost writer...

Congrats to Marc. But you bring up another point. You don't want to pay petrol taxes, but you take advantage of the socialized medicine.. seems rather paradoxical...

By the way, I think I will be in Europe / Basingstoke the week of Nov 12th. Invitation still open?...

Since you are saving all this money on fuel, you can drive up and meet me for a dinner (Bring Marc of course, I wouldn't want you hitting on me... or hitting me.. whichever the case may be...

Joe - Would love to meet up with you. Basingstoke is actually down from where we are but what's accuracy to the uninitiated? Not sure how we exchange phone numbers....you on Facebook?
