I have previously confessed to my American Idol obsession. I just want to let you know that I am sooooooo over it. (I am sure this has been keeping you up at nights and I don't want anyone to lose any more sleep.)
This week Gina was ousted and Sajaya stayed. Gina was never going to win but I sing better than Sanjaya. This man is a train wreck: his clothes, his hair, his dancing (?), but mostly his singing. And the only thing missing from Hayley's performance was a pole. This is not Stripper Idol.
I thought this was a singing competition. I might be wrong....is this really about race....or sex? I have beaten my addiction but apparently 33 million people voted this week. Do you realise that is more than 1/2 of the entire population of the UK?

The really strange thing is: I have never watched this show, but I know who Sanjaya is. "Idol" updates are regularly given on the evening news broadcast that I watch. It irritates me a bit - isn't there something more newsworthy going on in this country?
Irritating indeed!
Thank you for the birthday wish, LaDawn.
I have not read To Kill A Mockingbird BUT I've seen the movie. I"ll get to it. I'm currently reading the Marthe Quest, Children of Violence series by Doris Lessing. I've had the five books for more than 20 years.
I'm proud to say I have NEVER watched an American Idol show or a complete show of Dancing with the Stars. I met someone who has never eaten at McDonalds and another who has only been to Starbucks once. Long comment.
WoW! I would like to give up McDonalds and don't think I'd have much trouble if I didnt have children. It is a mighty good treaat for them twice a month. Starbucks on the other hand....well, let's just say wild horses can't keep me away!
I've never read Doris Lessing. What genre?
