Post Op Bailey

Bailey succesffuly underwent the scapel yesterday. He had is gonads removed and a lmp on his tummy. The vet is not entirely certain about what the lump was. They believe it might be "scar tissue". But how a healthy 10 month old puppy got scar tissue on his tummy is a big mystery. We'll be sending that off to the lab for tests.

He is miserable. He hates the collar. He can't run. He can't pick up his chew toys. He keeps bumping into everything. He is whining and crying. He can't run and play. He is feeling quite sorry for himself.

We took the collar off of him for about 15 minutes last night and he immediately starting licking and caused some bleeding to one of his wounds so the collar went straight back on.

Poor little guy.

AWW, poor puppy. We have a yellow lab also but much older than your Bailey...our Jack is 10 YEARS old!Jack was neutered as a young pup and as soon as we brought him home he layed down & CHEWED all of his stitches out! EWWWWWWWWWWWWW ! I was freakin out, vet couldn't do anything about it, long story short, he healed up fine. Thought I would just share that. I'm a big dog lover...have enjoyed reading about Bailey. From cousin Pam

At first, I was shocked at the blatant doggy porn shots...but, then, the jewels are gone now so it's all good. ;-)

Did Jack calm down after the snip?

I didn't want to tell you this but...NOOOO, he did not calm down at all. We never noticed any difference in him...he continued to destroy our house, jump on people, lift his leg to pee, and even, ahem, humped people and dogs(male or female)! I was convinced that the vet left "one" in him:) Alas, that's all behind us now...he's a very calm, fat, lazy old dog. Can't even believe he ever did those things. We love him so much!

When did Jack calm down you ask? I really can't even remember but I want to say he was about 4 years old when he stopped acting like a puppy. You have my sympathy :)
